Contributions
Here are some of the contributions I have made, either for courses or through work. They reflect my broad understanding of what is interesting. I like to think my interests are broad in the same way TED or Fora.tv are!
Enjoy
While completing my Masters in Urban Planning at McGill, Prof. Lisa Bornstein received federal funding to research the impact of Mega projects on Communities, and launched Megaprojects Work For Communities to investigate how to minimize and even capitalize on big projects like a teaching hospital that move into a neighbourhood. My interest in street art and the premise that most institutional buildings are prime targets for tagging and graffiti led me to do some research and conduct a focus group on the topic, more specifically in Montreal’s NDG neighbourhood, also home to Bran Van 3000. This paper was delivered to the NDG Community Council and seems to have been published along side other papers written by fellow students.
If you like graffiti you might want to read about:
All City, the iPhone app for graffiti lovers
or even just check out the picture gallery of street artists I found in Paris, Montreal, Venice and Padova and vote for your favorite.
While I was working the European Think Tank Vision I focused on impacts of the energy crisis for the European Union. This article looks at the implementation mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol. This article was crafted to garner interest from consultants and academics for the “Kyoto for Cities“. This program, initiated by the Think Tank in 2007 culminated with a 2009 Conference in Naples held jointly with the European DG for Education and Culture.
